Swanage Railway - 'Strictly Bulleid' Spring Steam Gala - 31st March & 1st April 2017

2017 marks 50 years since the end of steam on the Southern Region of British Railways on Sunday 9th July 1967. As such, several heritage lines in the south of England, are holding galas, throughout the year, to commemorate this memorable event. The Swanage Railway was one such line to do so, bringing together 5 working Bulleid Pacifics (and one Standard 4 Tank) for their spring steam gala, titled 'Strictly Bulleid'. In addition to the normal runs between Swanage and Norden, most passenger trains would also be running up the extension (top and tailed from Norden) to the boundary with Network Rail at River Frome; giving extra entertainment for bashers and linesiders alike.
