CH 4 opening 2 November 1982
On 2 November 1982 the BBC and ITV ceased to have the monopoly of tv broadcasting in the UK. Channel 4 was born. Making a bold statement with it's heraldic signature tune 'Fourscore' and exceptional editing of video footage from around the world proclaiming the birth! - Channel 4 was here - to stay!
