Derrick Morgan's rock steady rude boy anthem from 1967, as featured in the acclaimed documentary, 'Rudeboy: the Story of Trojan Records'. Born in Jamaica on 27 March 1940, Morgan made his musical breakthrough in the late-1950s after entering Vere Johns Opportunity Hour, winning the talented contest at the Palace Theatre with rousing interpretations of Little Richard hits. National tours with Jamaican comedy team Bim & Bam ensued, and in 1959, Morgan finally made his recording debut with his self-penned 'Lover Boy', produced by Duke Reid as an 'exclusive' for his celebrated sound system. A hugely successful career followed, with his proclamatory 'Tougher Than Tough' proving his greatest success of 1967.
