We are driving along the Sichuan-Xizang Middle Line (G349) and have arrived in Luolong County, Xizang. Known for producing high-quality highland barley, Luolong County is hailed as the "Grain Barn of Eastern Xizang." This is the first time we have seen what highland barley growing in the fields looks like. Following the stream next to the highland barley fields upstream, we were greeted by Zhuomalangcuo, a magnificent plateau lake. We were delighted to come across a Tibetan family camping by the lake, and the Tibetan uncle even treated us to dried yak meat. Shudu Town in Luolong was once an important post station on the Ancient Tea-Horse Road. We were surprised to learn that there is also a tomb complex here, where many Han people are buried. What stories once unfolded here? Let’s explore together that long-buried history and those bygone years.
