400 Class Garratt Locomotives, Part 1: Peterborough to Port Pirie
This is Part 1 of a series of videos capturing scenes of 400 Class Garratt steam locomotives working on the narrow-gauge Peterborough Division of the South Australian Railways. The scenes are of the locomotives heading westbound, out of Peterborough toward Port Pirie on the coast, with intermediate stops such as Gladstone and Crystal Brook. They are taken from old 8mm movies recorded in the late 1960’s. As a result, there is no audio track on this video. The following additional videos of 400 Class Garratt operations may be found on this channel: Part 1: Peterborough to Port Pirie Part 2: Port Pirie to Peterborough Part 3: Farewell Narrow Gauge Tour Part 4: Their Final Days
