I Tried to Get Fired From a Hollywood Set… and Failed

I was so afraid of getting fired from a Hollywood film set that I came up with a ridiculous plan: try to get fired on purpose. In this storytime, I talk about starting out as a background actor on Disney+’s Noelle, sneaking out of holding to learn from different film departments, and the moment I charged my phone on an HBO camera cart and thought my career was officially over. Somehow, I still didn’t get fired. That experience taught me a lot about confidence, anxiety, film-set etiquette, and how the entertainment industry actually works behind the scenes. I’ve since worked on productions connected to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO and National Geographic, along with directing and producing my own independent projects. Disclaimer: I absolutely do not recommend trying any of this yourself. Respect the crew, follow set rules and never touch another department’s equipment without permission.
