Octet No. 3 in D flat: V. Finale (Allegro assai) by Scott A. Davis
Octet No. 3 in D flat for clarinet, 2 horns, bassoon, and string quartet By Scott A. Davis Recorded using Dorico/NotePerformer The sonata Finale, adapted from an earlier unfinished wind quintet, emphasizes the bassoon and clarinet, beginning with a bassoon solo. It gradually moves out of the darkness back to the light and cheerful conversation of the first two movements. The development section recalls the Hungarian Dance (2nd movement). The music moves from C sharp minor to C sharp major for a joyful conclusion.
