Zeiss Ikon Contaflex I Video Manual

Zeiss cameras represent the most meticulous and incredible lens and mechanical engineering and production of their era, and of many decades afterward. Leave it to the Germans to make cameras with such precision and care that, even more than a half century later, they still run well and reliably despite their intense mechanical complexity. But I won't lie: to my way of thinking, Zeiss cameras are almost too precise. The Contaflex, unlike some Zeisses, is easy to use, even though it includes added things -- like the aperture lock -- that make sense but seem unneeded. And the double-shutter system, while genius, is exceedingly complex. But for all the complexity, the Contaflex has something that few, if any, other SLRs have -- a leaf shutter. And if you've never used a leaf shutter camera, that is a big deal. This camera is simply pleasant to use. Its quiet, no-nonsense nature let you know that it's always going to work the best it can to delivery a good photo. It's the consummate professional -- it does it s job as well as it can with neither complaint nor judgment.
