How Linux Actually Boots (Step by Step)

We press the power button, wait a few seconds, and suddenly we're at a Linux desktop. But what actually happens during those few seconds? In this video, we follow the Linux boot process from beginning to end. We are starting with the CPU's very first instruction and ending at the desktop. Along the way we investigate firmware, the bootloader, the Linux kernel, initramfs, and systemd, focusing on how each stage hands control to the next. This isn't just a list of components. It's an investigation into how Linux goes from a file on disk to a running operating system. This is the first video in what I hope will become a series of Linux investigations. If there are other parts of Linux you'd like to explore, let me know in the comments.
