Little China Hidden in Thailand! (Yunnan Chinese Village) 🇹🇭

Did you know there’s a piece of China hidden deep in the mountains of Pai, Thailand? On Day 1 of the Mae Hong Son Loop, we took a detour into the mysterious Yunnan Chinese Village (Santichon Village). This is not a typical tourist stop, but a community settled by refugees who fled the Chinese Civil War in 1949, bringing their unique culture, tea, and cuisine with them! We sample traditional Chinese tea, take a try at archery, and find the best Chinese dish in the village (a massive bowl of noodles!). Afterward, we head to the breathtaking Pai Canyon to walk the narrow ridge and enjoy the views, and wrap up our day exploring local Thai villages and finding the majestic White Buddha. Stick around for a key travel tip on how to find the cheapest accommodation in Pai!
