Suspeito de matar policial em São Paulo é preso; buscas continuam pelo segundo envolvido

One of the suspects in the murder of retired military police officer Rodrigo Saraiva has been arrested. Wanderson Santos Ribeiro, 23, admitted to shooting the officer while he was cycling in the eastern zone of São Paulo. The crime occurred when criminals emerged from the woods and announced a robbery after realizing the victim's bicycle was valuable. Rodrigo Saraiva was 50 years old and passionate about sports, especially cycling. He was with a friend in Jacuí Park, in the eastern zone of São Paulo, when the thieves demanded his bicycle, valued at approximately R$130,000, and his cell phone. Upon noticing that the former police officer was armed, they shot him before fleeing with the stolen belongings. The Civil Police are continuing their investigations to capture Erisvaldo Ribeiro Santos, Wanderson's brother and also a suspect in the case. The brothers' mother gave a statement to the police but was later released.
