Manned multicopter / multirotor build Episode 1
Manned multirotor build PART 1 After the unexpected and positive outcome of previous KK2.0 + gas engine tests I decided to give I a try; building a, in relative terms, small, octocopter with man carrying capability. The preliminary setup: 8x11.5hp Turningy 111cc gas engines with 26X12 Fiala propellers, mounted on an aluminum frame, 6063 T-6. Cockpit/seat made of glass fiber-epoxy covered expanded polystyrene. Redundant electrical system, single KK 2.0 flight controller. TOW 120kg (70kg pilot), max thrust 200kg Epic Win or Fail? Stay tuned for PART 2 and a great learning experience! Quoting Gimli: "Certainty of death, small chance of success- what are we waiting for?" ;-)
