Joel demos a truly special effects unit: the Analog Outfitters Scanner Vibrato & Reverb, which is made of vintage vibrato scanners and reverb tanks from old Hammond organs. Also making appearances are a gorgeous Collings I-35 LC, a Nash 12-String T-Master, and an accompanying Analog Outfitters 2x12 Cab with Analog Outfitters Super Sarge 35W Head. Analog Outfitters began its journey in a basement workshop in Champaign, IL, comprised of Ben Juday and Steve Errede. Initially specializing in repairs and live sound, Analog Outfitters gained a necessary working knowledge of all technical components associated with electric instruments and skills that were put to use in 2011 when Juday built his first custom Sarge Amplifier. Crafted out of old Hammond Organ amplifiers, road signs, scientific equipment cases, and just about any recycled or up-cycled materials whenever possible, Analog Outfitters supply unique musical gear to musicians of every skill level. Analog Outfitters had two goals in mind when building The Scanner: to create the best sounding product available and to manufacture it with repurposed, sustainable materials. Featuring an amazing vibrato and reverb sound constructed out of repurposed vintage vibrato scanners and reverb tanks from unwanted Hammond organs, we would consider their goals accomplished. Additional features include a pad switch on the 1/4” input, XLR line input and output jacks, a line output attenuator, a 4 pin XLR switching jack, and a 1/4” TRS input for an expression pedal to control the speed of the unit. The XLR output is constantly present for connection to a recording console and can be used as a D.I. for front of house.
