Keyshill Farm: Making the most of slurry
The way we store and spread slurry is changing, it is becoming more likely that the days of the splash plate are coming to an end. At Keyshill farm in Ayrshire, farmer and contractor Ian Watson has moved from a splash plate to a umbilical dribble bar system and is reaping the rewards. Scotland’s Farm Advisory Service (FAS) is part of the Scottish Rural Development Programme (SRDP) which is co-funded by the EU and Scottish Government, providing information and resources aimed at increasing the profitability and sustainability of farms and crofts.
