Ascensión al Cuello de la Iztaccíhuatl. Partiendo desde el Parque EcoTurístico Dos Aguas Tlamanalco

Although our objective was well planned to reach the North Summit via the Arísta de la Luz, the weather conditions and the beautiful 🗻 trail prevented us from doing so this time, and the decision was made to begin the descent out of respect for the mountain and for our own safety. . . Starting from the Dos Aguas Ecotourism Center, we climbed through the tube, reaching the flat part of the slope, passing through Nexcoalango, taking Loma Larga, and reaching the Valley of Silence, where a strange energy is felt, as it is said there is an extraterrestrial portal. We continued through the yautepemes and the solitary "guardians of the Izta," and finally a steep climb to reach R. Téyotl (4,500 meters above sea level) at night, where we rested for a few hours and completed the first stage. Second stage: 4:00 a.m. Departure from R. Téyotl to reach the peak and circumnavigate below the eastern side, passing through the peak system and the Téyotl volcano, dangerous and unstable terrain; 8:00 a.m. Arrival at the peak (approximately 4,950 meters above sea level), where strong gusts of wind forced us to decide to begin the descent. . . It was a long and demanding trek of approximately 33 km, reaching an elevation gain of approximately 2,643 meters. Adding the weight of the backpack with all the equipment and supplies planned for the summit, it is nevertheless a beautiful route. . . I thank God and the Mountain for allowing us to ascend and descend safely.
