PINK FLOYD - Live In Brescia (JFE Stereo Matrix) - Brescia, Italy 1971-06-19

Pink Floyd live at the Palazzo Delle Manifestazioni Artistiche in Brescia, Italy, on June 19th, 1971. The Renzo Storti master that this matrix is built around is quite possibly the best audience recordings of 1971, and one of my favorite recordings from all of Pink Floyd's live history. Jimfisheye (JFE) did the impossible and made it sound even better with this matrix release. Regarding the artwork, neither the JFE matrix or Renzo Storti's Master came with any, so I have chosen to use the artwork from the Sigma 293 release of the Renzo Storti Master. I have also included the artwork from recorder 2 (Pasquale Perulli) in this video. Recorder 5 (Renzo Storti) notes and history: "Here for the first time the complete gig from Brescia recorded by Renzo Storti. Renzo Storti is a sound technician that worked for radio, cinema and with University of Padua. He recorded the concert with a Uher 4400 with Shure microphone; he adjusted the levels during concerts while a friend moved the two microphones that were placed on stands. The tapes were played a few times after the concert, then they were left safe without ever being touched. About ten years ago Renzo decided to digitize the tapes to make a CD to give to his friends present at the event. With the fiftieth anniversary of the concert, Renzo came into contact with Andrea Borsotti, a member of Y! and soul of research. Renzo made a new transfer in 24/96, and yesterday in Padua we organized an event with a preview of this recording. The quality is incredible, perhaps one of the best audience recording of 1971, an incredible document that finally sees the light in complete raw version." There is too much to include in this description, so you can read about Jimfisheye's mastering process of this matrix in the comment section below. Jimfisheye, January 2022
