Firewatch - Eine kleine unnötige Analyse

Oh! A coffee link? https://ko-fi.com/justpauseit - - - - - I know many people have issues with the Walking Simulator genre, especially seasoned adventure game enthusiasts. The exposition was lacking. There were no other characters to interact with to advance the story, if you could even call it that. And so, over time, the term "Walking Simulator" was somewhat abandoned, and a new term, "Exploration Games," was coined. However, Walking Simulators continued to evolve as a genre, increasingly focusing on stories and their characters. More and more interactions were added to the game, finally creating something resembling gameplay. This resulted in truly immersive experiences, often with tragic stories, where you actually had something to do, rather than just exploring panoramas that were pretty to look at but essentially devoid of content. Although, of course, the gameplay in these games was far less pronounced than in classic adventure games. But the genre definitely has its place, especially for people like me who either have little time to dedicate to a 300-hour role-playing game after a long day or simply don't have the time. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a story without stress, like listening to an audiobook or reading a book before finally going to bed. And one of those games that brilliantly solved this problem for me was Firewatch, released in 2016 by Campo Santo. And without exaggeration? This game confirmed for me that this genre of video games is a true art form. - - - - - Do you like the channel and want to support it?
