Nearly 1/2 I'd say. The original 49cc 2 stroke vs this 31cc 4stroke doesn't have much if any power difference. The 4 stroke has more grunt off the line but falls flat at higher rpm/speed. Where the old 2 stroke takes forever to start moving but keeps pulling at higher rpm than the 4 stroke. How fast was I able to go? around 20mph in speed one(has 2 speeds) and wasn't able to get it to pull away in 2nd gear. I did have a little downhill part that gave me a nudge and I may have hit 25mph. A 120lb kid wouldn't have an issue and this would push 30mph easily in 2nd gear. This doesn't sound fast but you fell like your clipping along at 20mph on this and the steering gets twitchy.
