This is one of the most complex works of the project. The viaduct will be exclusively for train operations, with a 500-meter elevated structure extending from Avenida Regional to Carrera 65. “This viaduct will have 17 supports, which are 17 columns, each with a deep foundation of piles. These are precisely the works we are currently overseeing with a pile driving machine. There are only two of these machines. Currently, the excavation and pile driving are being carried out in this area of ​​the country.” The initial excavations are part of the viaduct that will connect the Caribe station on Line E with the Córdoba area, crossing the Autopista Norte and Avenida 65. “The Metro de la 80 will not only connect the western part of Medellín from north to south, but will also improve the quality of life for nearly 1 million residents, approximately 38% of the city's population.” This system will transform the city, making it a model of sustainable transportation. The construction project has a Traffic Management Plan approved by the Secretary of Mobility, which regulates the entry and exit of machinery to minimize disruptions in this high-traffic area.
