Blanca Rodríguez de Pérez, known as "Blanquita," witnessed and played a leading role in the country's evolution for much of the 20th century. She saw it grow and understood her role as an agent of social change. Doña Blanca is an example of dedication, simplicity, and commitment... She prepared to be the wife of a political leader, endured exile, and took on the role of First Lady of the Republic with fortitude on two occasions. Her spirit and willingness to improve the environment changed the lives of many through various social assistance programs she directed and designed: the Children's Festival Foundation, the Children's Foundation, the Day Care Home Program, and Bandesir, among others.
