Zhuangzi 莊子, "Autumn Floods" 秋水 - Let's Read Philosophy

#philosophy #taoism #tao #daoism #wisdom #chinesephilosophy #confucianism #gowiththeflow #skeptic #easternphilosophy Today we explore a classic display of Daoist (Taoist) wisdom in the "Autumn Floods" chapter of the Zhuangzi. The text masterfully expresses the main contours of Zhuangzian thought and introduces many ideas and themes found elsewhere in the Zhuangzi, such as recognizing the inherent limitations of our perspective and being skeptical of people who profess a universal system of values. The translation of the text can be found with the accompanying post on my website here: https://franksaundersjr.com/wp-conten... This is the first of hopefully many videos on Chinese philosophy, since that's my main area of specialty. Stay tuned for more!
