📜 Background of the Hymn “I Gave My Life for Thee” is one of the most beloved consecration hymns in Christian tradition — a personal reflection of Jesus’ sacrifice and a call to self-dedication. It was written in 1858 by Frances Ridley Havergal, one of England’s most gifted female hymn writers, known for her deep spirituality and poetic skill.
