Igor Protti, l'addio allo stadio di Livorno: il giro di campo del feretro tra i cori dei tifosi

Livorno fans filled the Armando Picchi Stadium to bid farewell to Igor Protti, former footballer and icon of the Tuscan club. On the evening of Saturday, June 20th, the coffin of the striker, who died on Friday, June 19th at the age of 58 from cancer, was carried around the pitch amid chants and smoke bombs. A giant photo of the striker wearing the captain's armband was also unfurled in the stands. "Ciao Igor, today we salute the man before the footballer," were the words written on a long banner hung by the fans. "He was our inspiration, our leader," said Marco Amelia, Protti's former Livorno teammate, who was present at the stadium.
