Recycle a 2015 Hobonichi Cousin for 2026
This week, I’m giving an old Hobonichi Techo Cousin from 2015 a brand-new life as my Captain’s Log for 2026. Instead of letting it sit unused, I decided to recycle my planner and make it work for me all over again. The first few pages for January were already filled in, so I got creative—covering pages with blank paper from the back of the book and transforming December into my new January. It’s a quiet, meditative process of fixing mistakes, repurposing what’s already there, and embracing the imperfect charm of reuse. Along the way, I share a few of my favorite journaling tools, including the stamps I sell and my Number 5 Emma leather cover, which holds the Hobonichi beautifully. If you’ve ever wanted to breathe new life into an old planner or turn your notebook into something deeply personal, this video is for you. Watch, get inspired to recycle your own planner, and see how even a worn Hobonichi can become something entirely new.
