I spent a long time trying to figure out the source, and eventually came up with a simple but very important reason: my drinking regimen was poor—or more precisely, I was practically drinking no water at the time. This is actually quite common: in a frantic work routine, you simply forget about water. Then, when the "drink 2 liters a day" technique became fashionable, I, like many others, began to apply it to myself. But then I realized: everything is so individual that there are no universal rules. It took me two whole years, through trial and error, to find my balance—one that prevents swelling, back pain, and other complications. Physical activity level. During exercise or heavy work, the body loses water through sweat—it needs to be replenished, but little by little. Before exercise, drink 150 grams of water. During exercise, sip every 15 minutes. After exercise, drink 250-300 grams for an hour. In hot and dry air, the need for water increases. This is where the thirst instinct comes into play. But after 4:00 PM, it's best to reduce your intake. Juicy fruits, vegetables, soups, and broths also provide fluid: you get some of your "norm" from food—I completely agree. Tea, coffee, and other drinks contribute to water balance, but they work differently: for example, caffeine can slightly increase water loss, so after a cup of coffee or tea, you often crave plain water and should drink it. For certain illnesses and medications, your drinking regimen should be discussed with your doctor. Listen to your body. Thirst is a natural signal that it's time to drink. Spread your water throughout the day. It's best to drink little by little. Adapt to the day. If you're working out, drink more. If it's a normal, leisurely day, go by how you feel, but still need to drink.
