My Induced Labour Story | 16 Hours + Epidural Experience (First Time Mom)

At just 20 years old, stepping into motherhood for the first time felt both exciting and terrifying. When the doctors told me I’d need to be induced, I didn’t really know what to expect — I just knew this was the moment everything would change. The induction began slowly, with the nurses checking in and preparing me for the long journey ahead. Hours seemed to stretch endlessly as I waited for my body to respond. Eventually, the contractions kicked in, strong and steady, and the reality of labour hit me hard. When the pain became too much to bear, I decided to get the epidural — and it was such a relief. My body finally had a chance to rest, even though my mind was still racing with anticipation. Every hour that passed brought me closer to meeting my baby, but also tested every ounce of my patience and strength. After 16 long hours of labour — filled with emotion, exhaustion, and courage — I finally held my baby in my arms for the first time. In that moment, everything I had gone through faded away. The pain, the fear, the waiting… it all became worth it. I was a mom.
