Christian School Pays Student $10,000 After Punishing Her for Being Gay

Tennessee Christian Preparatory School thought it could punish senior Morgan Armstrong for coming out as a lesbian, ban her from graduation, and even threaten her college future over a Facebook post and a private message criticizing Trump-supporting "Jesus" relatives. Instead, the school ended up paying her $10,000, rescinding her suspension, and agreeing not to say anything negative about her to colleges. The school still refuses to admit it did anything wrong, but settlements like this don't happen because everything went according to plan. It's a satisfying ending to a case that exposed how quickly some Christian schools abandon their own message of love and compassion when LGBTQ students dare to live openly.
