Bikepacking The Dales Divide 2024

Hi, On this adventure, I set off with like-minded people for an early Easter attempt of the Dales Divide group start double coast to coast. It was all going well until I reached the cafe. There was hardly any stop time and I still got there at the same time as last year despite my stop time in 2023 being around 37 minutes. I wasn't overly impressed with the day as I'm stronger and fitter than last year. It then poured down when we were at the cafe and the temperature dropped enough to see your breath. I stopped enjoying myself and when I caught up with my friends who also stopped enjoying it and I turned it around into a fun bikepackinig trip in the Dales. Looking back, I feel like I may have given up too easily as you forget about the trail conditions when you see the sun in the sky. There has been over 200% of the normal rain for months and the Dales mud was deep and sticky. Friends of mine carried on and did incredibly well, I just wasn't feeling it this year.
