Old Cemetery of Charenton-le-Pont, Paris, France. The old cemetery of Charenton-le-Pont is located in the Bois de Vincennes in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. It is one of five cemeteries within the city limits of Paris, each managed by its respective municipality. This cemetery is actually the third in the municipality. This new cemetery was opened in 1825. However, it was almost completely destroyed in 1848 to make way for the Paris-Lyon railway line at Marseille-Saint-Charles station. The municipality then acquired the current land on part of the municipal territory acquired in 1861 by the City of Paris for the development of the Bois de Vincennes and administratively annexed to it in 1929.
