A mixture of day-time and night-time videos are featured, each filmed from different points of view and with different camera angles around the level crossing. I was able to film this level crossing at a range of very different times in the day as I was staying very close by during my visit to the area. I was actually staying in the old station house which can be booked via Airbnb and was a really great experience! The video has been edited slightly differently to usual (and if you've read this far you'll most likely notice that the description layout is different to usual), though I hope you enjoy watching! This level crossing is located very close to the England / Wales border within the village of Bucknell in the Shropshire Hills. It is located next to Bucknell Station, and it previously had no barriers until April 2014 when two half barriers were installed in front of the entry (left-hand) side warning lights at this level crossing. There are 5 sets of warning lights (also known as Wigwags) in total at this level crossing, two of which are fitted onto the same supporting mast at the same level to provide warning to each road entering the level crossing at a small road junction on that side. Both of the alarms here date back to 2018, and they are not too loud, nor too quiet, for the level crossing's surroundings and location. This level crossing is also protected by drivers' crossing indicators and LED white floodlights for train drivers. The station next to this level crossing is a rather pretty and pleasant small, rural station. It is only served four times per day in each direction on a typical weekday, as is the rest of the Heart of Wales Line. Trains passing here connect Shrewsbury and Crewe with Swansea, Llanelli, and Carmarthen in South Wales. For the direction of South Wales, trains will only stop here if requested to do so by any passengers either on the train or on the station, so trains pass through here very slowly regardless if they stop or not, as to be able to safely stop if a passenger on the station requests it. However, for trains heading further into England, all trains must stop here as a member of train crew has to activate the level crossing via a plunger on the platform in order to proceed. Thanks for watching!
