The 85mm f/1.2 RF in action! 1 hour of Street Photography with Canon EOS R5 and Black Mist Filter

Happy Anniversary! It's been one year since I started this series of PoV Street Photography videos and, at least for me, it's been an amazing journey - physically and creatively. I've grown a lot in one year and have your wonderful presence to thank for it! I certainly would not continue as regularly as I have without all of your encouragement. We're back in the streets and this time we've got the fabled 85mm f/1.2 RF from Canon! This is, by far, everyone's most favorite lens that I use on this channel - for good reason too - it's a straight up mythical beast! Using this lens feels like cheating, everything you point it at is rendered in crystal clear detail with beautiful colors, contrast, and a depth of field that is surpassed by no other lens on the market. There are several 85mm lenses out there, but only one like this. We're also pairing it with a 1/2 Black Diffusion lens filter to give our city lights that dreamy, creamy, steamy glow. I will admit, I think the 1/2 is a little too strong for me. I used the 1/4 in our previous video and I think I prefer that to this one, but hey, you don't know until you try, right? This is also the end of our Halloween Celebration series, and while I never really set out to create things in a creepy, horror-esque style, I did try to make things a little darker and more mysterious than usual - which is hard for me, since my work already leans heavily on the shadowy side of things.
