I Walked 4 Miles in Chicago Heat to Find Jollibee | Was It Worth It?

I walked 4.25 miles through the Chicago heat for one reason: Jollibee. But the trek led me to much more than Chickenjoy. While visiting my daughter in Chicago, I discovered a Filipino shopping area featuring Jollibee, Max’s Restaurant, Filipino groceries, Red Horse, San Miguel, red hot dogs, and other familiar connections to the Philippines. Inside Jollibee, I explored the American menu and compared the experience with my most recent visit in Cebu. I ordered Chickenjoy with mashed potatoes, gravy and a biscuit, along with an ube pie and lychee drink. The food was great, but the Chicago prices were roughly three times what I paid in the Philippines. Was the four-mile walk in the June heat worth it? After eating, I made a quick Target stop and decided it wasn't a good idea to walk the entire distance back in the direct sunlight. Instead, I rented a Divvy bike through Lyft and turned the return trip into another Chicago adventure. Have you visited Jollibee in the United States or the Philippines?
