Rossendale Valley, Cowpe Moss, Lancashre

Our trail began from Cowpe Village then up Rooley Moor Road turning right towards Cowpe Moss and the lovely Cowpe Reservoirs. We then continued along the Cragg Quarry (with the Valley of Stone where quarry tramways (1855) used to run, then finally over Top of Leach. Unfortunately due to a backed 'right of way' public footpath, returning back entailed a long road to the car. Music Track title should be A Passing Phase https://shanitalee.bandcamp.com/track... Despite the numerous back-tracking to end routes and the barred public footpath, a pleasant discovery of somewhere different, and or course a rewarding latte drink at Manr's cafe inside the Whittaker Museum, Rawtenstall, made a pleasant end to the day.
