Stroke Survivor Michael Obel-Omia Eill Share His Journey

Michael is a public speaker, writer, and educator who has lived with aphasia since a stroke in 2016. In his ongoing journey of recovery, he found inspiration in poetry—a medium that allows him to express what speech cannot. A passionate advocate for stroke survivors and individuals with aphasia, Michael has published numerous essays and a compelling collection of poetry titled Finding My Words: Aphasia Poetry. After cycling 3,183 miles across the U.S. with the Stroke Onward organization, Michael wrote a second collection of poetry titled Cycling across America in 101 Poems. He has future plans for more long distance cycling. He lives in Barrington, Rhode Island, with his wife Carolyn, whose support continues to inspire his voice and vision. @letstalkstroke #letstalkstroke #stroke #strokesurvivor #strokeawareness #tbi #tbiawareness #aphasia #aneurysm #aneursymsurvivor
