Poka-Yoke (ポカヨケ) Coffee Pot

Lean Manufacturing is composed of many useful tools and my video today specifically explores Poka-Yoke. Avoid (yokeru) errors (poka), mistake proofing, or my phrase "mistake mitigation" are all incorporated in the Poka-Yoke process. Designing a process or a product to make mistakes more difficult is at the heart of Poka-Yoke and the effects can equal reduced errors, increased user safety, and improved efficiency, just to name a few. Poka-Yoke has applications in products, as demonstrated today using my office coffee pot, but also can be used in pure service environments as well.
