Visit Uttarkashi | A Mini Prayagraj in the Yamunotri ? Char Dham yatra with Rural tales | If you are coming to visit Yamunotri Dham, then you will find a small Prayagraj here. Gangaani pilgrimage site is situated in the Yamuna valley which is located at a distance of only 10 km from Barkot. At this place, the holy water of Ganga ji from Gangotri valley comes into a pond which later merges with Yamuna ji. It is believed that Mother Ganga gave this blessing to Rishi Jamdgani. At this place, Kedar Ganga coming from Kedarkantha merges with Yamuna river. At a distance of just 4 km from Gangaani, the ashram of Rishi Jamdgani is located which has now taken the shape of a grand and huge temple. Built in pagoda style, this temple is the temple of many villages of Thakral Patti. This temple made of cedar wood has been rebuilt recently. There are also many ancient statues here. The State Archaeological Department has preserved this temple. Nagaad village is at some distance from Than village. Earlier Than village was a part of Nagaad Gram Sabha. There is a temple of Jamdgani Rishi here too. The place of gods and goddesses in the mountains is called Than. Hence, it was named Than because of the name of the place of the deity. Nagaad village is a very big village. Both the villages are close to Ganganaani. There are many hotels for night stay in Ganganaani.
