ASMR - Harbor Seals, Cow Nursing Her Pup

A harbor seal cow nurses her pup while they rest together on a log float in the Duwamish River. Harbor seal pups nurse for about 4-6 weeks before they are weaned and begin hunting on their own. In this case, Mom is reluctant, but Junior is hungry and insistent. At first, he tries to Snuggle up to Mom, but she is having none of it. She turns her back to him. After his prolonged efforts go unrewarded, he finally decides "if you're not going to feed me, I'm just going to run away from home". Then he slips into the abyss, and out of sight. Woe is me! Mom is initially unimpressed. But before long, she starts scanning the surface for Junior. No sign of him anywhere. She grows concerned at this point. She pokes her head underwater repeatedly looking for him. She frets for a couple minutes before driving fully into the water. She re-surfaces almost immediately with Junior in tow. Now that he has her attention, she rolls over for him to begin the long-awaited meal. After dinner, he cuddles up to Mom to give her a kiss. The Moral of the Story: Mom's resistance is no match for Junior's persistence.
