🚐 Boondocking Upgrade: Doubling Our RV Fresh Water Capacity | Fox Fixes Ep. 5

Follow our journey and see what we're fixing next: https://linktr.ee/LAtravelFoxes. Fox Fixes: Wrenching with Alex - Episode 5 🦊🔧 Are you looking to extend your boondocking trips? We are officially doubling our off-grid capability on this episode of Fox Fixes! Instead of a standard replacement, I am adding a second 40-gallon fresh water tank right alongside our existing setup to give us a massive 80 gallons of total capacity. Watch the full breakdown as I handle the fabrication, underbelly installation, and interior plumbing modification. 🚐💦 Key steps in this fix: ➡️ Smart Weight Distribution: Mounting a 40-gallon Icon tank underneath the rig, directly between the axles. ➡️ Underbelly Access: Cutting out the old coroplast to prep for a full underbelly replacement later down the road. ➡️ Pro-Tip Propping: Fabricating custom steel support beams and an extra heavy-duty rectangular cross-tube for total peace of mind. ➡️ Plumbing Isolation: Installing inline shut-off valves and T-fittings under the kitchen sink to control exactly which tank we draw from. 🛠️ The result? An 80-gallon fresh water system that lets us boondock way longer! 🌲💧 Lessons Learned: If I had to do this project over again, I would skip the three smaller steel support beams entirely and just use two heavy-duty rectangular steel tubes bolted straight to the main frame!
