Deere hit a homerun with the 3025E - so why won't I buy one?

Why I Love the John Deere 3025E… But Still Didn’t Buy It. Is it the right upgrade tractor for me? If I were buying my first under 25 hp tractor, the 3025E would definitely be the one. You get the benefits of the 3 series chassis size, with the simplicity of a diesel engine that doesn't have emissions and regeneration cycles and complicated sensors/electronics. It's the perfect 25 horsepower compact tractor. Without a doubt. BUT - as someone who already has 23 hp John Deere 2210, I had to weigh the advantages of the 3025E against what I already have - that costs me nothing. Current tractor is a John Deere 2210 with Curtis cab, 3rd function, forks, etc. Is the John Deere 3025E the perfect upgrade? It came closer than anything else yet… but still didn’t make the cut. Why the 3025E is a Home Run Incredible value for a John Deere compact: ~$22K lightly used No emissions equipment, no DPF diesel particulate filter — sub-25HP class (simpler, reliable) Bigger tractor feel Larger chassis than the 2210 Significantly bigger wheels and tires Much improved ground clearance Foldable ROPS Wider bucket, higher lift numbers More reach and stability for forks Great capability for firewood, brush, small logs, material handling Highly popular — huge community, visible resale value 💬 The 3025E is my favorite tractor in the 25HP range — without a doubt. Better for navigating woods trails Better loader reach for unloading trailers Could finally move some heavier pallet loads A better base for future attachments Loader Lift — The Hard Numbers Rated Lift @ Full Height (at pivot) JD 2210 + 210 FEL ~620 lbs Barely enough for heavy pallets/totes JD 3025E + 300E ~845 lbs 225 lbs better — better, but still limited with forks + forward reach JD 3033R / 3039R + 320R ~1,400–1,600 lbs Now we’re talking → lifting full IBC totes, bigger implements, heavier logs Yes — the 3025E lifts a couple hundred pounds more vs the 2210. But the 3R jump is the first time you can confidently lift and position full IBC totes, larger attachments, implements, etc. $20K gets me 200 lbs more lift — but for around $26K+, I get nearly 2½× what I have now… and that’s a major upgrade. Why I Ultimately Said “Not Yet” More details on the deal-breakers: HP gain is tiny → 23HP → 24.7HP Loader increase isn’t huge enough in real world use (especially using forks) Transmission isn't the eHydro (auto-throttle, smoother control, cruise) My 2210 has the same standard HST as the 3025E (no auto-throttle, less refined feel) Loader joystick mounted on the loader mast Not as nice for ergonomics Fuel gauge not on dash (small but noticeable drawback) Frame and hydraulics not as heavy-duty as the 3R series If I’m going to spend over $20K, it needs to be a big upgrade — not just a noticeable one. Final Takeaway The 3025E is awesome — just not quite awesome enough for me right now I’ll keep watching the used market for the right 3033R or 3039R deal What do YOU think? Would you have made the jump? Who’s running a 3025E — do you love yours? ---------------------------------- Please subscribe to our channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/PurpleColla...
