He comes at you, he advances, he puts on the pressure. And every time you want to throw a kick, you feel like you're half a second too late. Or worse, you get caught out while you're preparing. The problem isn't your speed. It's how you execute the kick. I learned this technique years ago from Claude Goetz in Brussels. He was Jean-Claude Van Damme's coach. The first time I sparred there, I got destroyed. Not because they were faster than me. Because they were kicking from a distance where I thought I was safe. In this video, I show you how to build this kick step by step with my students from Noros. Reverse pedagogy, applied in sparring against a charging partner. Three possible variations at the end (middle kick, front kick, side kick) from the same starting position. This is a combat tactic. If you practice Kickboxing, Muay Thai, or MMA and often find yourself under pressure from aggressive opponents, this is exactly the kind of tool that can change the outcome of a round. ⏱ Chapters 00:00 The principle: a decisive kick to close the distance 01:43 Building the combination with a preparatory low kick 04:24 The details of the pivot on the ball of the foot 06:48 Application against the opponent's cross jab 11:51 Front kick variation: aim for the chest, not the stomach 15:09 Side kick variation and recap of options 16:02 The origin of the technique: Brussels, at Van Damme's trainer's house 17:45 Three strikes, one starting position Ready to continue the GREGGOT TV adventure? ➡️ Subscribe here to get all my techniques: https://www.greggot.com/abo-yt 👍 Drop a LIKE if you enjoyed the video and found it helpful! 💬 Leave your questions or feedback in the comments!
