The Craziest Sales Call Ever! why not listening is costing you $$$
had to tell you about the most unhinged sales call of my life. so my high school buddy hits me up like "yo, you know anyone who can build my uncle a website?" me being the helpful guy i am, i whip up a quick landing page mockup in like 30 minutes. just to show what's possible, you know? then the uncle calls me. this man starts going OFF. cussing me out, talking about wanting his website to feel like "a shot of heroin" (his exact words), acting like a complete psychopath. i'm sitting there like... bro what? but here's the thing that hit me after i got off that call: this dude told me EXACTLY who he was in the first 5 minutes. i just wasn't listening. see, most people think sales is about convincing someone to buy your sh**T. wrong. sales is about listening to what they're telling you and deciding if you even WANT to work with them. every red flag was there: the aggressive energy the unrealistic expectations the straight up weird analogies but i kept trying to "close the deal" instead of protecting my peace. cost me 2 hours of my life i'll never get back. here's what i learned: listen to what prospects are actually saying. not what you want to hear. what they're ACTUALLY saying. they'll tell you if they're going to be a nightmare client. they'll tell you if they respect your expertise. they'll tell you if they're worth your time. you just have to listen. message me for the full breakdown it's honestly the craziest sales call you'll ever see. -neeco p.s. - let me know if you think i should've just taken his money anyway. part of me is still wondering... 😂
