“Every victory is born from struggle” I am D. M. Thushara Jayarathna, a former student of Ananda Sastralaya and currently working as an investigative web journalist. For my higher education, I studied Management at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and later joined Sri Lanka Law College as a law student. During my academic career, I was awarded a Gold Medal in a jury competition and also served as the Captain of the Law College Debating Team. I became widely known for filing a complaint against Namal Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, regarding alleged irregularities in a Law College examination. Following this incident, I faced serious political pressure and threats to my life. As a result, I left Sri Lanka in 2012 and currently reside in Switzerland. I have dedicated my life to promoting democracy, justice, and the rule of law in my country.
