Roku Kyoto: Not Worth The Michelin Key!

In this video, I take you inside the Roku Kyoto, LXR Hotels & Resorts, a property sitting at the top of the Hilton Brand. While I truly wanted to love this hotel, my experience was less than ideal, leading to one major conclusion: I don't think the Roku Kyoto deserves a Michelin Key. Like all my comprehensive hotel reviews, I break down my stay into five key categories and score each out of 5 to give you an unbiased, in-depth look at the property. Here's a snapshot of what you'll find in the video: Amenities (Score: 4/5): The property shines with its stunning lobby and courtyard pond, decent spa and gym (with incredible mountain views), and the marquee heated pool. The only drawback? The presence of just one restaurant. Room (Score: 5/5): The rooms are a true highlight! Expect everything you would want in a luxury Kyoto hotel, including a breathtaking mountain view and a private onsen (hot spring bath) in the bathroom. We also enjoyed free daily mini-bar snacks as a Diamond member. Food (Score: 1/5): Unfortunately, the culinary experience was a massive disappointment. While the breakfast spread was okay, the quality of the food was subpar. Hospitality (Score: 3.5/5): Service was a mixed bag—great overall, but we faced significant issues with a long check-in process and restaurant service. Location (Score: 3.5/5): My final score for the hotel's setting.
