Original Video:    • Exquisite Barcarolle No. 5 by Fauré - Capt...   From Brian who requested this video: "I was going to bring you the rest of the Brahms Op.116 fantasies performed by Helene Grimaud, but I opted instead for her incredible performance of Faure’s passionate and powerful 5th barcarolle in f# minor. My favorite moment in this performance is where she draws out that 7-8 leading tone over the IV chord on the third bar of the second-to-last page. This is followed by several amazing rising figures during the next four bars leading into the final cadence. Finally, on the last page Faure visits the borrowed MAJOR 6th twice while bringing the piece to moving close over the newly asserted F# major tonic. My God, this is simply divine music!
