This fifth installment on recording a mixing console's stereo mix to a computer explains the latest trend in mixing consoles: integrating a digital converter or USB stereo interface into the mixer itself. Thanks to this integrated USB port, we can record the mixer's main L and R mix to a computer by directly connecting a USB cable. Examples of mixers that incorporate both a digital converter and a USB port include the BEHRINGER XENYX model and the YAMAHA MG-XU series. Like any other interface, the mixer's built-in digital converter has its own drivers, which can be found on the manufacturers' websites.
