Reel du Capitaine du 22e Régiment (comp. Louis Boudreault) - Devon's Tune of the Week 77

For Father's Day here's a wild and wooly Québécois tune in honor of my grandfather, Col. Francis Léger of the 22e Régiment! The name of the tune is "Reel de Capitaine du 22e Régiment" and it's a composition of Louis "Pitou" Boudreault. He composed it while participating in military drills at the citadel in Québec City in the 1920s. It's usually played in B flat, but we transposed it to A so Louis could play accordion but he changed his mind and we're stuck in A hahah. Tricky tricky tune but we wanted to pay homage to my father's father Francis Léger who was a Judge Advocate General for the 22e Régiment. Because Francis was a bilingual Acadian, he was much in demand with the 22e Régiment for translation services for soldiers who got into trouble. Now that I've completed my Tune of the Day journey, I'm moving back to Tune of the Week (and also Song of the Week)!
