Martha and the Muffins Trance and Dance HQ with Lyrics in Description

Track 12 from their second album "Trance and Dance" released in 1980 copyright Dindisc Records, a division of Virgin Records. It was again recorded at the famed Manor House Studio in the countryside of Oxfordshire, England and produced by Mike Howlett. Unfortunately, this would be their last album to feature bassist Carl Finkle, who was an integral part of the band and an absolute standout on the instrument. I'd say he deserves the highest accolades, right up there with the best players. The album received above average reviews but didn't create any interest on the charts. Written by Martha Johnson and produced by Mike Howlett. Featuring: Martha Johnson - Lead vocals, keyboards & background vocals Mark Gane - Lead vocals, lead & rhythm guitars & synthesizers Martha Ladly - Lead vocals, keyboards, trombone & background vocals Andy Haas - Tenor sax Carl Finkle - Bass Tim Gane - Drums & percussion Abandon all your cares and woes And come with us to a place we know Just close your eyes and let your body sway Hypnotic rhythm takes you far away Trance, trance and dance Trance, trance and dance Trance, trance and dance Trance, trance and dance Don't resist, just let it flow And a calm inside will start to grow Time stands still and a darkness falls No future, no past, now serenity calls On and on incantations drone Echoing still, that eerie tone You are not aware of your body or mind But this trance and dance you must leave behind But this trance and dance you must leave behind
