Like a modern-day Aesop, comic writer and stand-up comedian Alessandro Gori tells us two stories about animals. The first is a reinterpretation of the ancient fable of the frog and the scorpion. The second is the true story of the dramatic killing of the gorilla Harambe. Described as "the best Italian comic writer" by Italian scholar Claudio Giunta in the magazine Internazionale, Alessandro Gori is known for creating, in 2005, "Lo Sgargabonzi," a blog full of provocative content, dark humor, and tragicomic characters, which later became a stand-up comedy show. He is the author of the short story collections Jocelyn uccide ancora (2018), Confessions of a swinging couple to their dying son (2022), and the poetry collection Canzoniere dei parchi acqua (2023). In 2019, he participated in the program "Battute?" on Rai 2. He was a writer and actor in the program "Una pezza di Lundini." In 2022, he won the International Satire Prize for his book and live performance. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
