After a long flight from Vietnam, a Shinkansen ride, and hours on the road, we head straight to Nagoshi Koi Farm to witness one of their most anticipated harvests of the year. This episode takes you from the iconic outdoor ponds of Nagoshi to the quiet countryside of Toyama in autumn—misty rain, golden rice fields, and the excitement of a major harvest day. Breeders, staff, and visitors from across Asia and Europe gather to watch the nets close in on hundreds of beautiful jumbo Koi. You’ll see close-up moments of the harvest: the careful netting, the preparation of floats, and the gentle way each Koi is lifted, bagged, and transported. From 85cm to 95cm, these jumbo Koi show incredible body, skin quality, and power—yet every movement from the breeders remains calm and precise, reflecting decades of experience at Nagoshi Koi Farm. This video captures the entire process in detail, from the sake ceremony before pulling the net all the way to the final fish of the day. It’s a rare look into the craftsmanship and tradition of Japanese Koi farming during harvest season.
