Flooded Roads, Ghost Towns & Missing Geocaches | Michigan Adventure

Join me for another Michigan geocaching adventure as I travel from West Branch to Gaylord, searching for hidden treasures across churches, cemeteries, ghost towns, flooded forests, and country backroads! This trip had everything—easy finds, difficult hides, flooded trails, missing geocaches, a ghost town, and even a scary moment when someone suddenly ran across a 70 MPH highway right in front of my truck. 📍 Today's Geocaching Adventure ✅ Ogema Hills Free Methodist Church – West Branch, MI A quick and easy start to the day with a magnetic key holder cache. 😲 Rose City Cemetery – Rose City, MI Before even reaching the cemetery, someone unexpectedly ran across the highway. Thankfully I was able to avoid hitting them, but it definitely got my heart racing. 💧 Ghost Town of Lodi – Lodi, MI Found the cache, but unfortunately it had filled with water and everything inside was ruined. I logged the find but couldn't sign the physical logbook. 🌲 Lodi Pines – Lodi, MI Flooded roads, a long hike down a powerline trail, and plenty of recent DNFs didn't stop me! After searching through thick pine needles, I finally located the hidden bison tube and signed the log. 🚛 Truck – Near Alba, MI A quick micro cache hidden in a stop sign. ✈️ Airplane – Near Alba, MI Unfortunately missing. DNF. 🚙 SUV – Near Alba, MI Another missing cache after the road sign had been damaged. DNF. 🚗 Car – Near Alba, MI The container was destroyed and the logbook was gone. I contacted the cache owner but never received a response. Every geocaching trip is different, and this one had just about everything—great finds, frustrating DNFs, unexpected challenges, and beautiful Michigan scenery.
